Vocal Range

SAROS' voice database is currently still under development, so their exact vocal range is not currently determined, but they are primarily a tenor vocalist.

Vocal Modes

SAROS has 10 vocal modes, with 5 currently revealed: Passionate, Power, Bright, Dark, and Falsetto. The remaining 5 will be revealed soon!

SAROS is currently still under development, so the below information is subject to change.

Passionate

Recommended Range: A2-G5

Falsetto Begins: A4

Complimentary Duet Modes:

ASTERIAN: Passionate
SOLARIA: Passionate

As with SOLARIA & ASTERIAN's versions of this mode, SAROS' "Passionate" mode simply provides their most natural tone, with an enhanced degree of "performance". "Passionate" can be used to add clarity or offset tone for any other vocal mode. Notably, falsetto begins at the exact same part of SAROS' range with "Passionate" enabled, but with less high-frequency breath components.

Power

Recommended Range: C#3-G#5

Falsetto Begins: A5

Complimentary Duet Modes:

ASTERIAN: Strained, Rough
SOLARIA: Power, Solid

The "Power" mode intensifies SAROS' expression, especially in the higher end of SAROS' range. This tone is also suitable for creating clear, non-falsetto expression at SAROS’ highest possible notes even outside of the recommended range with manual adjustment. To reach SAROS’ most powerful, we suggest combining “Power” with other strong or tense modes.

Bright

Recommended Range: C#3-F5

Falsetto Begins: G#5

Complimentary Duet Modes:

ASTERIAN: Strained, Clear
SOLARIA: Solid, Clear

“Bright” adds tension and clarity to SAROS’ voice, making it more piercing and sharp in tone. Ideal for songs with an already crowded arrangement or pieces that need vocals to cut through to center stage.

Dark

Recommended Range: B2-E5

Falsetto Begins: G4

Complimentary Duet Modes:

ASTERIAN: Open
SOLARIA: Solid

“Dark” brings SAROS’ sound to its coldest and also most masculine, rounding pronunciation and pushing the database’s range to its most natural lows. “Dark” can also bring out pensive tones on falsetto notes, while pulling the falsetto transition lower in SAROS’ range.

Falsetto

Recommended Range: C3-B5

Complimentary Duet Modes:

ASTERIAN: Gentle
SOLARIA: Light, Airy

“Falsetto” is based directly on falsetto-only data from SAROS’ voice provider. It can be used in moderation to warm and soften tone, or turned all the way up to create lines only in falsetto tones.

Pre-Release Demo Songs

SAROS is currently in their pre-release promotional period, so new demonstration songs are still coming up on our social channels. For raw samples of SAROS' demo songs, please check their main page.

SAROS' first pre-release demonstration song is "Movements Align" by ODDEEO. In this piece, ODDEEO showcases a beta version of SAROS, demonstrating their core range and natural expressiveness.

For more on "Movements Align", check out ODDEEO's interview with @EngVocaPromo on Twitter.

"A Starry Farewell" by AIKA shows a more recent version of SAROS' voice, emphasizing the brighter tones of their voice and showing their extended upper range and more feminine tonalities in an emotive piece.

Nine Aetharia further showcases SAROS' core range in both soft & strong tones in the third demo. This piece features a large amount of manual adjustment to SAROS' pronunciation, showing how a user can take advantage of the tools to have SAROS suit their vision.

SAROS takes it up a notch in "Keep Your Eyes On Me" - a high-energy pop song from Koge! This song shows both their strong & soft side in a teasing siren's song set to a strong dance beat, in a more fun and stylized demo song featuring a great degree of manual pitch adjustment.

Promotional Images

For both of our previous vocals' promotional periods, we shared promotional images of them on social media. SAROS will also receive similar promotional work over the course of their showcase period.

User Works

Our vocals so far feature in a great deal of works published online by users, so we have officially set up Spotify artist pages for both of them. SAROS will also be receiving an artist page in the future. Eclipsed Sounds will not take any royalties or streaming revenue from releases using SAROS, and credit of SAROS is completely optional for users.

Feel free to share your own works featuring SAROS using #SynthV_SAROS on social media.

Development Challenges

SAROS, as our most dynamic vocalist yet, presents some development challenges. To ensure the same level of quality as our two previous vocals, we are taking SAROS' development slowly. While a beta version is in use for demonstrations & internal testing, this voice database is a prototype, and many aspects of SAROS still need to be adjusted before we are comfortable making pre-orders available or settling on a final release date.

In our current internal beta version, we are focused on improving the performance of vocal modes. SAROS will likely have more vocal modes available than either of our previous vocals, and their voice database will contain more data than either SOLARIA or ASTERIAN had available. As a result, we are working with an extended timeline to ensure quality, and also hoping to ensure clarity in communication with a longer list of pre-release demonstration songs than provided for either of our previous vocals. If all goes well, we hope to release SAROS before the end of the summer.
